All Tours: Create a Content Heading within a Location

Create or add a content heading to a location in a tour

A [content heading] is a topic talked about at a location. It is a self-contained unit of information such as “Transfer Admissions” or “Meal Cards.” We recommend between one to four content headings per location with a two to five sentence description for each heading.

Get Started

To add a content heading to a location within a tour:

  1. Navigate to All Tours
  2. Locate the tour you would like to edit in in the "Locations" tab
  3. Click on the location and toggle to "Content" in the right-hand module

You can differentiate the content headings for personalized tours versus pre-made tours. If there is a content heading you would like to hide for those taking a personalized tour, [INSERT INSTRUCTIONS WITH NEW SCREENS]

Add Content Headings

Content headings are added to a curated tour by clicking the "Add Heading +" button in the bottom-right of the Content tab within a location. You'll be prompted to add a heading by either:

  1. Adding a pre-existing content heading from the CMS
    1. Select this option if the content heading has already been created in the platform. Check off the content headings you would like to add.
  2. Creating a new content heading. Once created, this content heading will be added to the CMS
    1. Select this to create a brand new heading.

Add Content Heading Details

When creating a new content heading, fill in its details. If adding an existing content heading, you may edit these details by clicking on the content heading. Note: this will edit the content heading in all places it is used in the platform.

To create a content heading, a name and description are required. Each content heading is paired with an emoji for the visitor's visual reference. If no emoji is selected by the institution, the system will default to ⭐️.

  • Heading Name: Topic in one to three words
  • Emoji: Select an emoji to represent the topic. If no emoji is selected, the emoji will default to ⭐️ . Use the sections at the top of the emoji picker to search by theme or use the search bar.
  • Description: Two to five sentence summary of the content heading. This should be written with a relaxed tone. Initial copy ideas are commonly gathered from existing content such as websites.
  • Tags: Optional - needed to create a personalized tour. Associate the content heading to commonly used words for that topic. This association will be used when picking what content to show a visitor on a personalized tour.
    Examples:
    Content Heading Tag(s)
[School Name] Athletics Fitness and Wellness, Athletics, Spirit and Traditions
    Nursing Learning Center Health Sciences
    First Year Resident Life Housing
Office of International Programs Student Abroad
  • Subsection: Optional. Elaborate on your content heading with additional content broken down. This is especially helpful when you find yourself writing a long description for a content heading; ask yourself if there is a way to further break down the content heading. For example: The content heading "Admissions" can have a variety of subsections such as "First-Year Admissions" and "Transfer Admissions."
